Operational objectives Veicināt sabiedrības izpratni par onkoloģisko slimību (īpaši krūts, dzemdes kakla, kolorektālā, prostatas u.c. bieži izplatītu veidu, kā arī onkohematoloģijas un reto vēžu) profilakses nozīmību un savlaicīgas ārstēšanās aktualitāti;
Samazināt saslimstību un mirstību, kas saistīta ar onkoloģiskām slimībām, īpaši uzmanību pievēršot vizuālās lokalizācijas audzējiem, veicinot sabiedrības izpratni un profilakses nozīmību;
Veicināt pacientu dzīvildzi un uzlabot pacientu un to radinieku dzīves kvalitāti, par nozīmīgāko uzsverot cilvēka dzīves kvalitātes jēdzienu;
Veicināt sociālo integrāciju un iecietību sabiedrībā;
Veicināt psihosociālās rehabilitācijas ieviešanu kā neatņemamu onkoloģiskās aprūpes procesa sastāvdaļu, uzmanību pievēršot pēc akūtās ārstēšanas periodam gan pacientam, gan tuviniekiem;
Sekmēt (pacientu biedrību iesaisti lēmumu izstrādes un pieņemšanas, kā arī realizācijas procesos, veicināt pacientu organizāciju pilsonisko līdzdalību un iesaisti pilnvērtīgas pilsoniskās sabiedrības nostiprināšanā) cilvēku ar īpašām vajadzībām līdzdalību sabiedrībā un pilsoniskas sabiedrības attīstībā;
Sniegt psihosociālos pakalpojumus (krīzes pakalpojumus - īslaicīgas psiholoģiskas un cita veida palīdzības krīzes situācijā nonākušām personām);
Nodrošināt psihosociālās rehabilitācijas centra darbību un attīstību, kā arī veicināt sociālās uzņēmējdarbības attīstību;
Palīdzēt cilvēkiem, kuri saskārušies ar onkoloģisku slimību (pacientiem, viņu ģimenes locekļiem) risināt sociālās vides, starppersonu problēmas, sniedzot psiholoģisku vai sociālu atbalstu;
Sekmēt sabiedrībā mecenātisma un sociālā atbalsta tradīcijas;
Veicināt mūsdienīgu ārstēšanās pieejamību onkoloģiskajiem pacientiem, nodrošinot dzīves kvalitāti atbilstošu augstākajiem standartiem;
Nodrošināt Latvijā efektīvu onkoloģisko aprūpi un ārstēšanu, kas būtu līdzvērtīga attīstīto valstu iespējām;
Veicināt onkoloģijas jomā strādājošo ārstniecības personu profesionālās izglītības attīstību un kvalitātes standartu līmeņa paaugstināšanu;
Informēt pacientus, to radiniekus un medicīnas darbiniekus un par sasniegumiem onkoloģisko slimību diagnostikā un ārstēšanā;
Īstenot izdevējdarbību, nodrošinot sabiedrību kopumā un pacientus ar nepieciešamo informatīvo materiālu par onkoloģiskām (hroniskām) slimībām un ar tām saistītu tematiku;
Attīstīt pētniecības tradīcijas onkoloģijas nozares situācijas uzlabošanai.
